Cracked!

Looks like the code has been cracked…

Children of Men is sticking for a third week – pairing up “The Holy Mountain” for the second half of the Jadorowsky revival. Things are going so well with the inclusion of second-run films, that we’re bringing in “Black Snake Moan” for a run in April.

Art and commerce, baby.

Incidentally…for all those cinephiles with nothing better to do….I’ll be dipping into my collection of movie trailers for a sixth round of Trailermania on Tuesday, April 3rd at 7 and 8:30pm. This time, I’ve got a scad of bad monsters, crap exploitation and complete obscurities – mostly from the 1970s - for your perusal.

One other item....we recently replaced our 35mm projector lamp, so we've got that "new bulb" glow at the moment.

El Topo never looked better...

Seconds anyone?

Children of Men started up this past weekend and is breaking all kinds of attendance records....thus vailidating our experimentation with second-run features. It's going so well, we're holding it over into next week.

That being said, the Jadorowsky double feature will be split up and spread over two weeks. Also, the Treasures of Long Gone John will be bumped to the week of April 6th...

Back in Blog

Ok....well, life is all about second chances. The blog came and went - due to a technical fiasco...but now it's back to stay.

That being said, there's some recent (and not-so-recent) events that we've got info/photos for - so please check out the new, but backdated blog entries to get the latest on what's happened in the past year...

Recently, we had the distinct honor of hosting a one-night-only screening of "Wild Style" - a seminal hip-hop film from the early 80's, that features a host of groundbreaking artists and DJs. The highlight of the night was a Q&A with director Chuck Ahearn and artist/musician Fab 5 Freddy - who chatted about filming without permits in Manhattan - and compared the CST with some of the best calendar grindhouses in NYC.

Awww yeah...
