Damn Dirty Apes...
* Planet of the Apes (redux)
Can't tell you how happy I am that this whole damn dirty ape trend is over.
Not that we'll be rescued from future attempts at resurrection. The horrors of reanimated franchises always lurk - be they simian or not. Such was my pain in Tim Burton's latest attempt.
OK.....I admit, the first twenty or so minutes was bearable....bearable until the prospect of Mark Whalburg - multiplied by Helena Bohnam Carter's perfectly quaffed "ape" hairdo gave me an ape hairball of cinematic indigestion.
I don't remember the rest.
Suffice it to say....let Chuck Heston keep his apes. Perhaps he'll learn something.
